I know people that have a lot of money and I know people that don't have any. The people that don't have money tend to think that they can show off the money they don't have by becoming a walking billboard for big brand names. When, in reality, the people that have money are more focused on saving their money for investment, retirement and their legacy. They are focused on leaving a legacy for their family and not on buying expensive name brand clothing or accessories to show off to people who don't matter. People who truly have Old Money tend to encourage timeless minimalist pieces, and take care of the things they do have.
Old Money Fashion is not necessarily expensive. As surprising as it seems, unless you see very apparent logos, it is hard to tell what store the garment came from or who designed it. I always advocate for fewer pieces that last a lifetime, but unknown fashion brands can come up with alternatives that look just as great if they fit you and you love their style.
Old Money Fashion is not always in the clothes. With great attire, comes great posture and great manners! The outfit matters, but if you carry yourself well and it shows through your body language, you will stand out and create a lasting impression!
